When you think about an outfit, the first thing we think of is on how can you stylize the outfit with accessories. However, to get to this point we first need a really nice outfit in which we can feel yourself and comfortable in it to then be able to add those amazing and stunning accessories you’ve been wanting to add to glam up the look.
I believe that beauty works the same way, as fashion does. To “stylize” my face, I would have to have a nice base to start with, this means I have to find products that will take care of my skin and will make it look beautiful by itself, in order to accentuate it with accessories, in this case with make-up. Some of us are very lucky to have a smooth skin of their own but I know a lot of girls, including me that can use a little help when it comes to this topic.
For beauty products I was always interested in make-up and every product you can imagine you can use to embellishment the face, from foundation to white eyeliners to make my eyes bigger, however I was never interested or I would like to say never well informed on what kind of products I needed in order to have a flawless face without makeup. I loved to make up so much that I got to a point that I didn’t want to go to the groceries store without make-up because I felt ugly without it. I loved the way my skinned looked, it covered my big black under eyes and all my small dark spots that bad skin care had created.
Just like in fashion, that not everything goes with all body types and shapes, the same way works with beauty products, not all the beauty products react to all skin types, but there is a niche market of really amazing beauty products that will go with all or most of all skin types. The reason why I can tell you this is because for mostly 5 years I tried so many skin care products to learn which products were best for my skin but I could not find ONE that worked and I could stick with for at least 2 months. For several years I had to learn the hard way where my face would break out and look very dry because I was not using the right/best products out there.

Three months ago, I found a MAGICAL duo from Drunk Elephant that changed my beauty routine into a 360 spin of pure joy! I am telling you, it’s impossible to compare my five years of trying several products (from cheap to expensive) to a product that I started using 3 months ago, and that has worked so well on my skin and many other skin types from friends that have used the same products.
Recently I discovered the Rise + Glow kit, from Drunk Elephant, which brought my skincare routine to a completely different level. It is light, it does not burn when you put it under your eyes, it removes sun spots, it moisturizes and lightens the skin for a healthier, radiant skin with an even color. In addition to this, this duo kit smells like orange, due to the vitamin C, it contains in one of the two products.

The Rise + Glow duo kit is a daily dose of vitamin for your face. The C-Firma Day Serum (orange container) contains 15% of L-absorbic acid, and pumpkin ferment extract that helps the skin to get firm and it also brightens it. While the second serum, B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum (blue container) contains pineapple ceramide and pro-vitamin B5, which quenches and illuminates the skin.
If you are still doubting this product let me explain a little about the ingredients that these have and the reason why they work so fast in all skins. Most of the ingredients on these serums come from natural sources like oranges, pineapple, pumpkin extract, etc. creating a faster reaction to our skin.
Let’s begin reviewing the ingredients!
- The L-absorbic acid is more commonly known as vitamin C. Although many people know that this vitamin is vital for a healthy immune system, few realize what an important ingredient it is for healthy skin. For example, vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant, which can help reverse skin damage from overexposure to the sun, and may even stimulate collagen production for tighter skin. L-ascorbic acid helps the skin in three different ways and they all have to do with the metabolism of the skin cells. The skin metabolizes by exfoliating and repairing itself as well as by rejuvenating collagen fibers, which helps create a tighter skin.
- pumpkin extractThepumpkin extract is packed with fruit enzymes and alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), which increase cell turnover, to brighten and smooth the skin. Pumpkin contains antioxidant Vitamin A and Vitamin C to help soften and soothe the skin and boost collagen production to prevent the signs of aging. Zinc in pumpkin seeds is brilliant for acne sufferers. Zinc will help control the hormone level and oil production, as well as assist with healing of the skin. Pumpkin seeds are also high in essential fatty acids and Vitamin E, which are necessary to maintain good barrier function of the skin. They also regulate sebum, great for an oily skin.
- The pineapple ceramide it is considered to be a major intercellular lipid filling the gaps of the outer layer of skin and plays an important role in suppression of water loss, and it maintains the skin structure. Pineapple ceramide it’s known to help with functions such as skin lightening and maintenance of skin structure in addition to moisturizing the skin.
- and last, but not least! the pro-vitamin B5. besides being suitable for all skin types, provitamin B5 it’s best known for being a humectant. Provitamin B5 protects the skin’s barrier and helps the skin to retain its moisture levels and shield it from irritation. This ingredient also heals, protects, regenerates and works as an anti-aging property that helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
As you can see, all the ingredients used in this kit, are purposely used to get rid of many of our main concerns, when it comes to our skincare, and having the perfect skin.
